A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME JOURNEY

From our founding in 1835, our existence and success has always been dependent upon our members. Our membership was responsible for funding the construction of a new building after the catastrophic fire of 1845, as well as subsequent renovations and projects. Now, The Mercantile Library is embarking on its most ambitious project in its 189-year history. And it cannot happen without YOU.

The 12th Story Project.
We are nearly doubling in size by taking over the entire 12th Story of The Mercantile Library Building, and making minor renovations to the 11th Story. This will mean more of everything. More books, more discussions, more places to read and work and think. And yes, more bathrooms.
