Before we welcome Erik Larson to deliver the XXXIV Niehoff Lecture, we’re going to tackle his most recent book together.

The Splendid and The Vile, Larson’s deep dive on Churchill and London during The Blitz, is the next read in our In Pieces discussion series. Member and frequent discussion leaders Joe Heyd and Abby Moran will guide our conversations, breaking this book into three manageable parts.

Our conversations will be at noon on Sept. 12, Sept. 26, & Oct. 10.

These will be HYBRID discussions. People can join in-person on the 12th Story or virtually via Zoom. Registration required via the September 12 event listing or by emailing Book Advisor Hillary Copsey, hillary@mercantilelibrary.com

About the In Pieces series:
Since 2016, we’ve been tackling big, intimidating books. Together, we break them into manageable pieces, and focus on one book over a handful of sessions.
