Beyond Agatha is a book club examining the mystery genre, exploring the work of a variety of authors throughout the last century.

In January, to start the year of whodunits, the group will read Gaudy Night by Dorothy Sayers, a contemporary of the club's namesake and another giant of the Golden Age of Mysteries. Library members Wendy Finke and Margaret Maddox will lead each discussion.

The group meets every other month, and readers can sign up for the whole series or pop in as their TBR list allows. Free to members. Registration required.

The rest of the year's reading list is:

  • March 10: Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier
  • May 12: The Expendable Man by Dorothy B. Hughes
  • July 14: Out by Natsuo Kirino
  • September 8: Death Comes to Pemberley by PD James
  • November 10: Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke
