Canon Club

One of our longest-running discussion groups, Canon Club reads the work of Shakespeare and work inspired by Shakespeare's plays.

To start 2025, the group will consider The Book of Will, a play by Lauren Gunderson that tells the story of members of Shakespeare’s company working to put together texts of his plays to publish. We’ll have a rich conversation about both the play and the importance of this particular book in Shakespeare’s publication history.

Canon Club meets eight times over the year and will consider work that aligns with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's performance schedule. All discussions are led by Xavier University professor Dr. Niamh O'Leary.

Readers can choose to register for the entire 2025 season or for a single session.
