Historian and seventh generation Cincinnatian Molly Wellmann is the kind of girl who needs to know where everything comes from. Anytime she was curious about anything, her mom would reply, “find out for yourself”…so she did, and still does. She continually studies (often at The Mercantile Library) the history and proper preparation of classic cocktails—as well as the histories of the people who made them. Wellmann is one of the co-founders of Stand-Up History, the author of the book Handcrafted Cocktails, and is currently at work on another about Cincinnati and our drinking history.
