This group reads “music books” that encompass memoirs, biographies, novels that feature music and those involved with it as a subject, collections of short stories written by musicians, books that look critically or historically at music’s cultural impact, and more.

In May, the group is reading 3 Shades of Blue: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, and The Lost Empire of Cool by James Kaplan.

Steven Rosen, the group’s organizer, is a co-founder of Cincinnati Vinyl Club and former arts editor at Cincinnati CityBeat. He is also the author of Lost Cincinnati Concert Venues of the ’50s and ’60s: From the Surf Club to Ludlow Garage
