For more than 20 years, Walnut Street Poetry Society has been a home for people who love poetry, as well as people who want to develop a love for it.

In 2026, the society will be exploring the immigrant poet experience. Sessions are moderated by Dr. Norman Finkelstein, poet and recently retired professor of English at Xavier University, and Ohio Poetry Association President Holly Brians Ragusa.

The group meets in person the second Wednesday most months, except July & August, when the group takes a summer break.The first meeting of the year will be a kickoff celebration with live readings. Poetry selections for subsequent meetings will be emailed in advance of each session. Registration required.
