Black Experience Book Club

The Black Experience Book Club is dedicated to examining literature by Black authors, providing a structured space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper understanding of the Black experience in America.

The Wilderness follows five Black women — Desiree, Danielle, January, Monique, and Nakia — over roughly two decades as they navigate adulthood together.
They confront challenges like family estrangement, motherhood, career ambitions, creative pursuits, economic and political instability, and the pressures of modern life in cities like New York and Los Angeles
